What is Pray Play Say?
Millions of people around the world are involved in the world of sport every day and the majority don't know anyone who follows Jesus. Can you imagine the impact of a Christian in every single sports club and team, representing Jesus and building his Church?
This is the dream of many Christians in sport just like you - that every single sportsperson would have the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and see it faithfully lived out through someone in their club or team.
This website is here to help people do just that. Pray Play Say is a helpful tool for sportspeople to think about what it looks like to represent Jesus in their sports clubs and teams around the world.
In Paul's letter to the church in Colossae (Colossians 4:2-6), he gives instructions that apply to every Christian as they live out their faith amongst unbelievers: prayer, behaviour and speech - what we call - Pray Play Say.
2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be
always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
As we look to represent Jesus in the world of sport, these three challenges come to mind:
Pray - will we pray for opportunities to speak to our sports friends?
Play - will we play in a way that honours God?
Say - will we say something of the Good News of Jesus?
These video studies aim to help you do that in your world of sport.
